Murders show up lack of parental control IF ever any
single incident should act as a wake-up call as to just how low Irish
society has sunk then it must be the shocking murders of two Polish nationals
— a 26 year-old and a 27-year-old in Dublin.
I am inclined to believe the reports and the general opinion that the
attack was not initially motivated by racism.
It seems that the two men were approached by a group of youngsters who
wanted the men to go into an off-licence and buy alcohol for them because
they were too young and therefore would not be served.
The men refused and only then were they verbally abused with some racist
comments.
This was a gang of up to 20 boys and girls who were hanging around the
shops looking for someone to get the alcohol for them.
The gang followed them to a house and proceeded to shout abuse outside
the house.
One of the men came out and asked them to move but was stabbed in the
throat with a screwdriver.
His friend rushed out to help and was stabbed in the head with the same
screwdriver. The gang then scattered.
The men died within days of each other.
This could have happened to anyone of any nationality.
As usual the locals claim to know the identity of the murderer and it
remains to be seen if anyone has the courage to step forward.
The gardaí are coming in for criticism because they have not dealt
with this ongoing problem.
But that is too easy because the problem actually lies with a lack of
parental control and responsibility.
The parents have failed these youngsters. That is the root of the problem. |
