LOOKS like John Travolta’s jet is taking the Shannon stopover quite seriously.

We told you last week that the star, also acting as pilot, had to stop in Shannon for either a refueling (his version), or an emergency (press reports), but one thing’s for certain - JT’s plane, previously owned by Aussie airline Qantas, ain’t going anywhere for a while. It’ll be in Shannon until at least the end of the month because it needs a new engine, which is currently in the process of being sourced . . .

NOBU, the trendy Japanese eatery favored by the glitterati in New York, London and other cool cities, is looking to open a branch in Dublin. “Dublin would be a great place to open a Nobu restaurant,” said the eatery’s head chef Mark Edwards. “We have had a good response in other parts of Europe and I think Dublin is the right place.” . . .

HAVE a spare &8 million? If so you could own Oscar nominated screenwriter/director Jim Sheridan’s breathtaking home in Dalkey, Co. Dublin with forever views of the Irish Sea. The home, which literally sits on the sea, is ultra-modern and has won a top architectural award, but Sheridan says it’s just too big for himself and his wife Fran, who also spend a good part of their year in the U.S. and the French Riviera.
