Meeting
The Cuny Institute for Irish American Studies will host an orientation
for its winter session faculty-lead study abroad course in the faculty

immersion opportunities in Connemara, Co. Galway. While the event is intended
for those registered for the winter program and those interested in the

Classes
There are a full slate of classes the Aisling Irish Center, 990 McLean
Avenue in Yonkers. On Wednesdays there is the Acosta Irish music class
from 3:30-6:30 p.m., followed by a beginners computer class from 7:30-9
p.m., and a series of art classes throughout the day. There are also mother

Classes
The Irish Arts Center, 553 West 51st Street in New York, offers a full
slate of classes and workshops. Class offerings for adults include Irish
language, music, dance, history, theater, and documentary filmmaking.
Children’s classes begin with Gaelic Kids (Elaine Ni Bhraonian),
an exciting language program from children ages five to 10. Keltic Kids
(Laura James-Flynn) is a pre-school Irish music and movement program for
infants and toddlers. An introductory step dance class (Niall O’Leary)
provides beginner and intermediate level experience for children five

Play
The Irish Repertory Theatre, 132 West 22nd Street, presents the musical
Meet Me in St. Louis. The musical is the story of the Smith family as
they eagerly anticipate the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis just
after the turn of the century. Optimism and young love are severely tested

Exhibit
An exhibit honoring the centennial of the birth of Irish playwright Samuel
Beckett is now on display at Boston College’s John
J. Burns Library, 140 Commonwealth Avenue in Chestnut Hill. The free public
exhibit, titled “…my monster is in safe keeping,” will
be on view throughout the main exhibit floor of Burns Library through
January 31, 2007. The exclusive exhibit, which includes items never before
displayed in the U.S., is comprised of correspondence, manuscripts, posters,
photographs, publications and other papers by and about Beckett (1906-1989),

Concert
Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas will be performed in the Anna
Maria Ciccone Theatre at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road in
Paramus, New Jersey, at 7:30 p.m. Foley’s show recreates the joy
and innocence of a night before Christmas in an idyllic Irish farmhouse,
where neighbors gathered together to grace the long wintry night with
the laughter of their stories, the joy of their music, and the dances

Dance

Concert
A concert called “The Pipes of Christmas — Celtic Holiday
