| The Good Luck of Bad Luck
The editor-in-chief of Irish America, Patricia Harty, introduces
this month's magazine.

at our long history of trials and tribulations would surely say we were
dogged by bad luck. As John Lennon wrote in a song entitled “The Luck of
the Irish,” “If you had the luck of the Irish, you’d be sorry and wish you
were dead. You should have the luck of the Irish and you’d wish you were
English instead.”
